DeMatha Stags Varsity Defeats St. Mary's, 4-1

DeMatha Stags Varsity defeated St. Mary's 4-1 on Friday.

DeMatha Stags Varsity tallied three runs in the sixth inning. DeMatha Stags Varsity big bats were led by Zach Drozdowski and Trey Taylor, who all drove in runs.

Jack Silder got the win for DeMatha Stags Varsity. He surrendered zero runs on one hit over five innings, striking out ten and walking one. Mike Morley threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Morley recorded the last six outs to earn the save for DeMatha Stags Varsity.

Goodwin was on the hill for St. Mary's. He surrendered one run on five hits over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Buchner threw one inning in relief.

DeMatha Stags Varsity tallied nine hits on the day. Jack Bulger and Preston Moltz each racked up multiple hits for DeMatha Stags Varsity. Moltz and Bulger each collected three hits to lead DeMatha Stags Varsity. Moltz led DeMatha Stags Varsity with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

DeMatha Stags JV defeated Archbishop Spalding 2-0 on Thursday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Tommy Harrison struck out Hannon to finish off the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides. DeMatha Stags JV pitchers struck out nine, while Archbishop Spalding pitchers sat down seven.

A double by Mungin in the second inning was a positive for Archbishop Spalding.

Jayden Brown took the win for DeMatha Stags JV. He went four innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out five and walking one. Harrison threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Carroll was on the mound for Archbishop Spalding. He allowed six hits and zero runs over four and a third innings, striking out seven and walking zero. Petraska threw two and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

Tyson Nercessian went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead DeMatha Stags JV in hits.

Mungin led Archbishop Spalding with one hit in three at bats.

Both DeMatha Stags Varsity and Georgetown Prep had their offenses going on Monday, but DeMatha Stags Varsity eventually prevailed 10-6.

DeMatha Stags Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Blake Badman doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

DeMatha Stags Varsity put up five runs in the fourth inning. Clark Burroughs and Alex Greene all drove in runs in the frame.

Georgetown Prep scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Georgetown Prep came thanks to a triple by Williams and a single by Hurt.

Jack Silder led the DeMatha Stags Varsity to victory on the hill. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Noah JohnsonGreene, and Ashby Ervin all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.Greene recorded the last three outs to earn the save for DeMatha Stags Varsity.

Flannery was on the pitcher's mound for Georgetown Prep. He surrendered three runs on five hits over one and one-third innings. DobbsSahler#18, and Lyons each entered the game as relief, throwing two and a third innings, one inning, one inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.

DeMatha Stags Varsity smacked one home run on the day. Greene had a dinger in the fourth inning.
